Differences APMA vs IDPMS

APMA Full PMS is based on IDPMS.  See PMS menu and Non menu related functionality for Documentation.
There are however a few differences for APMA, some functionalities are restricted (user management for example) and some functionalities may work a little different (auto-run interfaces,  file storage etc.) These difference can be found in this chapter.

Amadeus Property Management Advanced builds on the robust capabilities if IDPMS and offers several advantages over the on-premise version of IDPMS:

User management

It is not possible  to create users and user groups in the PMS, this is all done via the APMA portal. A user is assigned a level and a group, based on this combination, the user has certain rights in the portal and PMS. The assigned group is also the PMS group and PMS rights are based on this group.

Options Hotel and General

In IDPMS Settings > Options  gives access to Hotel settings and General settings. For APMA these items are hidden in the PMS. The settings can be accessed via the Portal.

File storage

PMS 4.1.6 and newer versions have a feature called 'BlobStorage' (BS for short). This functionality uses a connection to Microsoft Azure File Storage (MAFS) to transfer files from local workstations to the cloud. This is always active in the APMA environment, but also on premise PMS users can use this functionality.

Reports, exports of various types will be saved in BS instead of in the local Report Export folder. On various occasions, PMS uploads the files to BS. The functionality to upload files to BS is incorporated in the save button on various forms within PMS.
