Lost and
found
The lost and found module
is meant to store and retrieve information about the hotel guests' lost
and found objects. It provides the property with a central location
to log all lost and found items.
To access
the lost and found module, go to Housekeeping > Lost and Found
The following
window will appear and if items are already listed, they will be shown
as seen in the example below.
Pressing the search button
will activate the search screen where one can seek a specific item
With this button the user
can change/filter the items that are displayed. By default, all items
are displayed. Pressing this button will show only the open (not settled)
items. One pressed the button will change to a closed lock.

Opening
an entry will display the following screen:
If the
first entry is of an object that was lost by a guest the Object Description can
be filled in the top section of the screen. If it concerns an object
found, the Object Description can also be filled in the bottom section.
If later the object is found, the remaining part of the section can be
filled, which will automatically update the entry as closed.
The pick
up information could be used when the guest picks up the object or when
the hotel employee mails the object to the guest.
- Object Description
- enter a short description of the object that was lost
- Date lost /
time - enter the date the object was lost. Time is not a
mandatory field.
- Location
Lost - give the description of the location where the object
was lost.
- Name lost
- enter the name of the person who reported the loss of the
object.
- Room number
Lost - the room the object was lost in. Guest room or banqueting
room.
- Date Found
/ time - enter the date the object was found. Time is
not a mandatory field.
- Location
Found - give the description of the location where the object
was found
- Name found
- enter the name of the person who found the object
- Room number Found
- the room the object was found
- Date Pickup
/ time - the date the lost object was picked up
by the guest. Time is optional
- Name Pickup
- the name of the person who picked up the object
- Info
- additional info on this object. Info might include details on when
the item was mailed or sent via express mail and might include the
tracking number if entered by the employee. The more information
text entered, the more information available to communicate to the
inquiring guest.
To print an object icon, select the print icon
